CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - The No. 26 MIT men's tennis team cruised to a 6-1 NEWMAC win over Coast Guard on Saturday afternoon on the DuPont Tennis Courts.  

THE BASICS: 

• Score: MIT 6, Coast Guard 1 
• Records: No. 26 MIT (9-5 Overall, 4-0 Overall); Coast Guard (2-6 Overall, 1-4 NEWMAC) 

HOW IT HAPPENED: 

• After Coast Guard won top doubles with the team of Benjamin Bonetto and Brendan Love, MIT secured the doubles point with wins in No. 2 and No.3 Tyler Li and Hunter Liao defeated Konnor Eslinger and Lucas Salazar, 6-0 in No. 2 while Jeremy Yu and Nicholas Liu earned a 6-1 win over Logan Kwon and Benjamin Carlander.  
• Siddharth Marathe defeated Bonneto, 7-5, 7-6 in No. 1 singles and Rushil Patel took down Love in No. 2, 6-2, 6-0. 
• Henry Feldman earned a 6-2, 7-5 win over Anthony Gregorie in No. 3 singles. 
• Coast Guard got their lone win in No. 4 singles. Ethan Nguyen took the opening set, 6-3, but Eslinger pulled away, winning the next set 6-3 and taking the super tie-break. 
• Yu defeated Carlander 6-2, 6-1 and Liu wrapped up the day with a 6-1, 6-1 win in No. 6 singles over Salazar.
