NEWPORT, R.I. - The No. 32 MIT men's tennis team earned a decisive 7-0 win over Salve Regina on Saturday afternoon to conclude conference play for both teams. In the win, the Engineers did not drop a set and only lost 10 total games.
With the win, MIT secures the No. 2 seed in this week's NEWMAC Championship and will host third seed Springfield in the semifinals.
THE BASICS:

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- MIT won all three doubles matches. Grant Gallagher and Hunter Liao took No. 1 doubles over Colin Fleet and Jesper Jensen, 6-1.
- Tyler Li and Adam Sun won No. 2 doubles 6-2 over Jacob Faulise and Kole Pinto and Rushil Patel and Shrish Choudhary took the final doubles match 6-0 over John Hawkshead and Rei Otake.
- Adam Sun won No. 1 singles 6-2, 6-0 over Faulise and Hunter Liao defeated Pinto, 6-2, 6-0 in two singles.
- Li earned a 6-1, 6-0 win over Jensen in three singles followed by a Choudhary win in No. 4, 6-1, 6-0 over Fleet.
- Gallagher earned a 6-1, 6-0 win over Otake in No. 5 and Patel finished the day with a 6-0, 6-0 win over Hawkshead.
