WALTHAM, Mass. - The No. 26 MIT men's tennis team won two of three doubles matches over No. 25 Brandeis, but the Judges rallied in singles action to earn a 5-2 win in a non-conference road match on Wednesday afternoon 
 
THE BASICS: 

• Score: Brandeis 5, MIT 2 
• Records: No. 26 MIT (8-5 Overall); No. 25 Brandeis (9-4 Overall) 

HOW IT HAPPENED: 

• Adam Sun and Grant Gallagher took No. 1 doubles by a 6-1 score over Oliver Lorenz and Daniel Shemesh, but the Judges took three doubles by a 6-1 margin with Muaz Malik and Huasen Dong earning the win.  
• With the doubles point on the line, Tyler Li and Hunter Liao locked into a tight match with Jiahe Wang and Aidan Wang-Fan.  The Engineers team jumped out to a 3-0 lead, but the Judges pulled even at five all. The set would eventually go to a tie-break with Li and Liao winning the tie-break point by a 7-3 score. 
• The Judges took wins in the top-two singles courts with Shemesh and Pierce Garbett earning straight-set wins. 
• Siddharth Marathe got to a super-tiebreak against Malik No. 3 singles. After falling 3-6 in the first set, Marathe won set two 6-3 but Malik took the tiebreak to win the match.
• Li got the second singles win for MIT with a 6-3, 6-3 win over Dong in No. 4. 
• Brandeis took straight-set wins in five and six singles.  

UP NEXT: 

• The Engineers are back on the courts on Saturday, April 11 for a 1:00 PM tilt against Coast Guard. The Judges will host Rochester on Saturday, April 11 at 10:00 AM.
