CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – MIT's
Saina Deshpande was selected to compete in the 2026 NCAA Division III Women's Tennis Singles Championship while
Alaina Kolli and
Artemis Pados were named as a fourth alternate for the doubles competition. This is the fifth year in a row the Engineers have qualified for this event.
Desphande has compiled a record of 18-9 this year, including a 12-5 mark while playing in the No. 1 singles position. Kolli and Pados have a 19-7 record which includes a 13-5 performance in the No. 1 doubles spot.
The individual championships will be held May 22-25 at Champions Tennis Club in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
As a team, No. 9 MIT returns to action on Saturday, May 9 in the second round of the NCAA Championship when it will play either No. 31 The College of New Jersey or No. 70 Nichols College at the DuPont Tennis Courts.
