THE BASICS:
- Location: Reggie Lewis Center - Roxbury, Mass.
- The Lead: At the NEICAAA Indoor Track and Field Championship, the No. 4 ranked MIT men's indoor track and field team finished in a tie for 20th out of 31 scoring teams at the two-day event at the Reggie Lewis Center.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- On Friday, freshmen Chris Washington (Frisco, Texas) and Alec Reduker (Newburyport, Mass.) both scored for the Engineers in the high jump as they placed fifth and eighth, respectively. Washington cleared six feet, 6.25 inches on the day, while Reduker posted a leap of six feet, 4.25 inches. MIT also scored in the pole vault on Friday as freshman Bobby Upton (Wexford, Pa.) finished in a tie for seventh as he cleared 14 feet, 11 inches.
- Sophomore Nathan Munet (Elkhart, Ind.) ran 1:55.05 in the 800 to place 18th overall, while freshman Tyndale Hannan (Dublin, Ohio) was 27th in a time of 1:58.84. On Saturday, sophomore Aidan Gilson (Florence, Mass.) picked up a fifth-place finish in the mile as he ran a time of personal-best time of 4:13.33 to score four points for the Engineers. For the meet, MIT finished with a total of 8.70 points.
