The Lead: The No. 8 MIT women's swimming and diving team claimed its 11th-consecutive NEWMAC Swimming and Diving Championship and 16th overall, totaling 1410.5 points over the four-day meet. In addition, this marks the 11th straight year both MIT women's and men's programs have won the NEWMAC title.

Kate Augustyn (Eau Claire, Wis.) was named the NEWMAC Rookie of the Year, and first-year
Rachel Loh (Arcadia, Calif.) was named Diver of the Year.
Lydia DaCorte of Wheaton was the Swimmer of the Year. Augustyn was a member of both the 400 and 800-Free relay teams that broke NEWMAC records as well as the 400-Medley relay team that set a new NEWMAC and pool record. She also won the 200-IM with a NEWMAC record time and won both the 400-IM and the 200-backstroke. Loh took first in the 1-meter dive and second in the 3-meter.

The Engineers defeated runner-up Wheaton by 490.5 points, which totaled 920 points, followed by Springfield College with 646 total points.

Jolie Kim (Englewood, Colo.) earned an NCAA 'B' cut with her second-place time of 17:26.63
. Classmate
Miri Griffin (Centennial, Colo.) also registered an NCAA 'B' cut as she touched the wall in third place with a time of 17:30.69.

Nicole Stiles (San Ramon, Calif.) finished seventh with a mark of 17:56.50.

- The Engineers took the top-two spots led by first-year
Kate Augustyn (Eau Claire, Wis.) with a time of 1:59.16 that places her fifth in the nation.

Laura Rosado (New Haven, Conn.) finished second with an NCAA 'B' cut time of 2:02.56 while
Iris Yang (Seattle, Wash.) came in fourth with a time of 2:05.75.

Lindsey Bjornstad (Mequon, Wis.) finished in second with a time of 51.86, followed by fellow senior
Olivia McGrath (Chevy Chase, Md.) in third with a mark of 52.09.

Melody Wen (Cary, N.C.) earned an eighth-place finish with a time of 52.96.

- Junior
Edenna Chen (Colorado Springs, Colo.) set a new meet record with her winning time of 2:15.33 that is an NCAA 'B' cut and ranks fourth in the country. She also won the event in 2020.

Danielle Fang (Hawthorn Woods, Ill.) finished in second (2:23.07) followed by graduate student
Sara Nicholas (Wilmette, Ill.) in third (2:23.10).

Sydney Chun (Chandler, Ariz.) took second in the event with an NCAA 'B' cut time of 2:03.94.

Angelina Zhang (New York, N.Y.) took third with a 'B' Cut time of 2:04.89 followed by first-year
Sarah Lu (Katy, Texas) in fourth with a time of 2:06.55.

Katie Sapozhnikov (Ambler, Pa.) took sixth overall with a time of 2:07.39.

3-Meter Diving
- Loh finished second in the event with a total score of 491.55 and junior
Megha Maran (Elk Grove, Calif.) took third with a score of 446.55.

Katelin Du (Scarsdale, N.Y.) finished fifth with 431.05 points.

400-Free Relay
- The MIT 'A' team of Bjornstad, McGrath, Chen, and Augustyn won the event in a NEWMAC Meet record time of 3:25.37 that is an NCAA 'B' cut and is faster than the 2019 invited time.Â

- Bjornstad was a member of both the 2019 and 2020 medley relay winning teams.
