The Lead: The MIT women's swimming and diving team earned its ninth straight top-10 finish as the Engineers finished the 2022 NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships in eighth with 190 points. Kenyon won the event with a total of 446 points.
EVENT HIGHLIGHTS:
200-Yard Back
- First-year
Kate Augustyn (Eau Claire, Wis.) earned her fifth All-America honor with her third-place finish in the event. She touched the wall in 1:58.84 to set a new school record.
200-Yard Breast
- Junior
Edenna Chen (Colorado Springs, Colo.) picked up another All-America honor with her 10th-place finish as she clocked in with a time of 2:15.80.
Three-Meter Diving
- First-year
Rachel Loh (Arcadia, Calif.) picked up All-America honors with her ninth-place finish in the event. She totaled 445.10 points in the consolation final.
400-Free Relay
- The Engineers team of Augustyn, Chen, senior
Olivia McGrath (Chevy Chase, Md.), and senior
Lindsey Bjornstad (Mequon, Wis.) came in sixth with a time of 3:24.85.
- Augustyn finished the championships with six All-America honors while Chen now has 10 in her career. Bjornstad has seven All-America honors and McGrath has five.
