Liao is a perfect 17-0 in dual matches this season, including a 16-0 mark at No. 2 singles. In doubles, Liao and Perera sport a 13-2 record at No. 1 singles and have won nine of their last 10 dual matches.
Â
The individual championships shall consist of 32 singles players and 16 doubles teams. The selection of teams and individuals for the championships is based on win-lost record, strength of schedule, and eligibility and availability of student-athletes.
Â
The NCAA team championship takes place from May 23-25, followed by the singles/doubles championship from May 27-29. Both championships will be held at the USTA National Campus in Orlando, Fla. and hosted by the United States Tennis Association, Oglethorpe University and the Greater Orlando Sports Commission.
Â
MIT, currently ranked No. 7 in the nation with an 18-1 record, has earned a first-round bye in the NCAA Regional and will face the winner of Sarah Lawrence/Endicott in the second round on Saturday, May 14th beginning at Noon.
