The Lead: A pair of goals in the third quarter was all nationally-ranked No. 20 MIT needed as it defeated Endicott College, 2-0, on Tuesday night. For the third game in a row, first-year
Bailey McIntyre (Concord, Mass.) earned a point as she set up the Engineers' second goal of the night.
Â
HOW IT HAPPENED:
Â
- After a scoreless first half, senior
Paige Forester (Glencoe, Ill.) ended the stalemate in the 35
th minute when she knocked in the rebound of her saved shot during a scrum in front of the cage.
Â
- MIT extended its lead almost nine minutes later when senior
Erica Radler (Wayne, N.J.) sent a one-timer from the left post on a feed from McIntyre in the center of the cage.
Â
- Endicott controlled the action in the fourth quarter as it outshot the Engineers, 4-2, and had a 2-0 edge in penalty corners. However, the Gulls could not break through as MIT produced its second straight shutout.
