The Lead: Competing against primarily Division I opponents, the MIT women's indoor track and field team produced 11 top-10 finishes including one event win and a pair of runner-up performances.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

- Junior
Alexis Boykin (Clayton, Ohio) won the weight throw on her final attempt with a distance of 18.97m (62' 3"), breaking the MIT record and setting a new personal record. In addition, her mark also currently ranks first in Division III. Junior
Emily Ball's (Des Moines, Iowa) last throw moved her up to fifth place with a distance of 16.67m (54' 8") and also resulted in a PR.

- Sophomore
Hailey Surace (Snohomish, Wash.) tied for second place in the pole vault with a height of 3.50m (11' 5.75").

- For the second week in a row, sophomore
Nony Otu Ugwu (Katy, Texas) was the runner up in the triple jump as she produced a distance of 11.24m (36' 10.5") on her last attempt.

- Boykin captured third place in the shot put courtesy of her final throw of 13.93m (45' 8.5") while Ball was fifth with a distance of 12.64m (41' 5.75").

- In her first time competing in the 500 meters, senior
Paige Cooksey (Ormond Beach, Fla.) was fourth with a time of 1:16.33.

- In the high jump, senior
Tolu Akinbo (Naperville, Ill.) tied for fifth with a height of 1.60m (5' 3").
