The Lead: At the River Hawk Invitational and the John Thomas Terrier Classic, the MIT women's indoor track and field team generated 11 top-20 nationally ranked performances during the weekend.

HOW IT HAPPENED AT THE TRACK AT NEW BALANCE:
Â
- Junior
Alexis Boykin (Clayton, Ohio) placed second in the weight throw with a personal-best toss of 19.43m (63' 9"), en route to re-upping her own NCAA Division III-leading mark. She is currently the only student-athlete in Division III women's track and field to surpass 60 feet this indoor season. Boykin also placed fourth in the shot put with a throw of 14.19m (46' 6.75").

- In the pole vault, sophomores
Hailey Surace (Snohomish, Wash.) and
Katelyn Howard (Lake Oswego, Ore.) both cleared 3.60m (11' 9.75"), however, Surace finished sixth while Howard was ninth. The performances rank 17
th in the country and Howard set a new PR.

HOW IT HAPPENED AT BU:
Â
- Boykin produced a throw of 14.73m (48' 4") on her final attempt to finish third in the shot put and set a new PR. The result currently ranks first in the country.

- Junior
Emily Ball (Des Moines, Iowa) ranked fourth in the weight throw as her mark of 16.77m (55' 0.25") resulted in a PR and stands 14
th in the nation.

- Sophomore
Nony Otu Ugwu (Katy, Texas) placed sixth in the triple jump as her PR of 11.55m (37' 10.75m) is 14
th in the country.

- The 4x400 relay, comprised of junior
Olivia Dias (East Taunton, Mass.), junior
Marina Miller (Bel Air, Md.), senior
Julia Howarth (Barrington, R.I.), and senior
Meagan Rowlett (Dana Point, Calif.) placed 15
th overall as its time of 3:56.50 ranks 10
th in the nation.

- Howarth's time of 2:13.31 in the 800 meters is fifth in Division III this season.

- In the mile, sophomore
Rujuta Sane (Chandler, Ariz.) produced a PR with a time of 4:59.20 which is 13
th in the nation.

- Sophomore
Lexi Fernandez (Stevenson Ranch, Calif.) crossed the finish line of the 3,000 meters in 9:49.15, resulting in a PR and the 10
th best time in the country.

- In the 5,000 meters, sophomore
Katherine Sanderson (West Hartford, Conn.) logged a time of 17:03.75 which stands 14
th in Division III.
