BOSTON, Mass. — Junior Kate Sanderson (West Hartford, Conn.) set a meet record in the 3000m, while graduate student Gillian Roeder (Delmar, N.Y.) and senior Alexis Boykin (Clayton, Ohio) each captured event victories to lead the No. 1 ranked MIT women's track & field team to a second place finish at the 2025 New England Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships at The TRACK at New Balance.

HOW IT HAPPENED - TRACK EVENTS:
- Mile: Roeder won the event in 4:54.50. Sophomore Jessica Meza (Columbus, Ind.) added a 20th place time of 5:15.41.
- 400m: Senior Olivia Dias (East Taunton, Mass.) was fifth in 57.46 and senior Marina Miller (Bel Air, Md.) was seventh in 58.03 seconds. First year Maeve Sullivan (San Antonio, Texas) added a 13th place time of 59.39.
- 800m: Junior Krystal Montgomery (San Jose, Calif.) was the runner-up in 2:12.35.
- 200m: Sophomore JoJo Miller (Marietta, Ga.) was 20th in 25.87 and junior Shreya Kalyan (Troy, Mich.) was 22nd in 25.90 seconds.
- 3000m: Sanderson and senior Christina Crow (Mercer Island, Wash.) finished 1-2, with Sanderson posting a meet record time of 9:36.29 and Crow finishing in 9:47.08. Sophomore Megan Diulus (Akron, Ohio) was 21st in 10:34.36.
- 4x800m Relay: Sullivan, grad student Archana Mohandas (Thousand Oaks, Calif.), Meza, and Roeder took fifth in 9:31.02.
- 4x400m Relay: Marina Miller, Kalyan, Montgomery and Dias finished as the runner-up in 3:50.63.
HOW IT HAPPENED - FIELD EVENTS:
- Weight Throw: Boykin won the event with toss of 19.38m (63"7"), junior Lilia Ould-Hammou (Metuchen, N.J.) took seventh with a mark of 15.37m (50' 5 1/4") and sophomore Macy Brennan (Westlake, Ohio ) was eighth with a mark of 14.93m (48' 11 3/4").
- Triple Jump: Junior Nony Otu Ugwu (Katy, Texas) third with a mark of 11.61m (38' 1 1/4").
- High Jump: Junior Katie Kempff (St. Charles, Ill.) 11th clearing 1.54m (5' 0 1/2").
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- All New England honors were awarded to top eight finishers in each event.
- Sanderson broke the 3000m meet record set by Coast Guard's Kaitlyn Mooney in 2019 (9:36.62), she now ranks sixth nationally and first regionally in the event.
- MIT's 4x400 Relay is 12th on the Division III national list and second in the region.
- JoJo Miller is 24th in the region in the 200m, tied with Dias, while Kalyan is now 26th thanks to her performance on Saturday.
- Brennan is ninth in the region in the weight throw with Saturday's finish.
