Sailing Competes at Camel Team Race

The MIT sailing team competed at the Camel Team Race Invite on Saturday in New London, Conn. The Engineers earned a fourth and ninth place finish. Brown won the event with a 7-1 record. 

The Engineers 1 boat with skippers junior Brooke Barry (West Hartford, Conn.), senior Max Katz-Christy (Cambridge, Mass.), and first year Will Kulas (Jensen Beach, Fla.) and crew senior Mercedes Escandon (Brick, N.J.), senior Samantha Karlson (Groton, Conn.), and senior Shayne Bersin (Port Washington, N.Y.) took fourth with a 5-3 record. MIT grabbed wins over the two Connecticut College boats, the Engineer 2 boat and Tufts. The Engineers 2 boat took ninth.  
 
UP NEXT: 

  • Next weekend the Engineers will compete at the Greiger Team Race, the Southern New England Open and Women's Team Race and the St. Mary's Women's Fleet Race.
