PHILADELPHIA — No. 3 MIT women's track and field senior Alexis Boykin (Clayton, Ohio) finished in fourth place in the Women's Hammer Throw at the 2025 Penn Relays at the University of Pennsylvania's Franklin Field.
THE BASICS:
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Boykin recorded a throw of 62.26m (204'3") on her second attempt to move into third place following an attempt of 59.52m (195'3") on her first attempt.
- Boykin remained in third until the fourth round when Chioma Njoku of Maryland recorded a mark of 62.77m (205'11") to jump Boykin and Harvard's Emilia Kolokotroni and move into second place.
- Boykin fouled on her fifth and sixth attempt but her second attempt held strong as she finished fourth.
- Army's Emily Fink won the event with a throw of 65.95m (216'4") on her second attempt.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- Boykin entered today's action as the Division III leader in the hammer throw with a mark of 59.73m (195'11') at the Sean Collier Invitational.
- She remains the Division III leader and is now the only Division III competitor with a mark over 60m this season.
