MARLBOROUGH, Mass. – Led by NEWMAC Rookie of the Year John Spivey (Saint Louis, Mo.) the MIT baseball team placed five student-athletes on the 2025 NEWMAC Baseball All-Conference Team. Sophomore Mason Estrada (Covington, La.), junior Zev Moore (Jerusalem, Israel), and senior Reed Tubbs (Pflugerville, Texas) joined Spivey on the first team while grad student Teddy Schoenfeld (Boulder, Colo.) earned second team honors.
The Engineers coaching staff, led by head coach Andy Barlow with assistants Jack Hawke, Todd Carroll, Teddy Downing, and Geoff Phillips, were named the NEWMAC Coaching Staff of the Year, as they led the Engineers to a 11-5 NEWMAC record and the No. 3 seed in the tournament. In Barlow's final season, MIT advanced to the championship of the NEWMAC Tournament where they fell in an extra innings walk-off to top-seed Salve Regina. This marks the fifth time Barlow has been honored as the NEWMAC top coach in his 22 seasons at the helm of the program.
