CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - Dr. G. Anthony Grant, Director of Athletics/DAPER Department Head at MIT, has announced the promotion of Lauren Dellipoali to Assistant Director of Athletics Communications.
Dellipoali is entering her fifth year at MIT, where she has worked as the primary contact for contact for sailing, men's and women's soccer, softball, squash, men's and women's swimming and diving, men's tennis, men's volleyball, and water polo as well as the secondary contact for football.
"I want to extend my sincere thanks to Dr. Grant as well as Miles Roberts for this incredible opportunity," said Dellipoali. "I have loved every minute of working at MIT, and I am very fortunate to be able to continue in this new role. The student-athletes, coaches, and staff have been amazing to work with during my time here, and I can't wait to continue to building relationships with them and see what they will accomplish next."
Dellipoali is an award winning athletic communications professional, who has been recognized both nationally and regionally during her time at MIT. Last year, she was one of 30 participants from across NCAA Division III selected to attend the inaugural NCAA Division III Athletic Communicators Emerging Elite Program. In 2023-24 she was named as a D3SIDA National Communicator of the Year alongside MIT's Mindy Brauer, additionally the MIT duo also earned D3SIDA Region 1 Communicator of the Year honors. A two-time recipient of the Northeast Water Polo Conference (NWPC) Sports Information Director of the Year award, she is also an active member of both College Sports Communicators (CSC), where she is a steering committee leader of CSC Women, and East-Comm where she serves on the Board as the College Division Representative.
A 2012 graduate of Syracuse University, Dellipoali earned degrees in Television, Radio, and Film and Psychology. Prior to MIT, Dellipoali had previous stops at Johns Hopkins, Wesleyan (CT), and ESPN.
