MARLBOROUGH, Mass. - MIT women's swimming and diving junior Fiora Beratahani was named the NEWMAC Diver of the Week for the week ending January 25. This is the first Diver of the Week award for Beratahani and 10th overall in her career.
Beratahani won three of four diving events during the week as the No. 5 MIT women's swimming and diving team competed against No. 3 NYU, No. 8 Williams and No. 9 Tufts. In the dual meet against the Violets and Ephs, she captured the 1-meter with a score of 289.70 and posted the top score on the 3-meter with a mark of 316.50. In the Engineers win over Tufts, she won the 3-meter with a score of 532.43 and finished second on the 1-Meter (479.40). She hit regional scores for 11-Dives against the Jumbos and regional for her 6 dives in the dual meet.
Beratahani and the Engineers are back in the pool on Saturday, January 31 as they will host Amherst at 1:00 PM for the final regular season meet.
