HOW IT HAPPENED:

- MIT found the end zone just 44 seconds in the second quarter to open the scoring as Robertson scored from two yards out for the 7-0 advantage. The Engineers ran the ball for all but one play on the drive, which spanned 13 plays and 66 yards.

- The Bears answered immediately on the next drive as Camden Cecchini scored on an 11-yard touchdown catch from Derek Victory with 10:14 on the clock. Cecchini caught the ball around the five and fought his way into the end zone to cap a quick seven-play, 70-yard drive that took just over four minutes.

- The Engineers put together their second scoring drive of the game on the ensuing possession as senior Tucker Cheyne (Avon, Conn.) converted a 27-yard field goal to account for the 10-7 MIT lead with 4:05 left in the half. MIT put together another late drive in the period, but that was stopped at the two after an interception by Coast Guard's Ryan Robertson.

- MIT's defense got on the scoreboard just 19 seconds into the third as junior Kyle Pina (South Yarmouth, Mass.) recovered a fumble and returned it 18 yards for the 17-7 MIT lead. Cheyne added to the lead with 4:10 remaining in the third as he booted a 34-yard field goal for the 20-7 advantage.

- The Engineers turned an interception into another Cheyne field goal as he converted a 28-yard field goal to cap a 2:10 drive for a 23-7 lead with 6:26 remaining in the game. The MIT defense sealed the game with 3:54 left as freshman Steven Salvas (Indianapolis, Ind.) tipped a pass from Victory and returned the interception to the 48-yard line.
