Ryan Wilson (Redwood City, Calif.), the No. 6 MIT men's track and field team competed at the Bruce Lehane Scarlet and White Invite at Boston University and the Tufts Cupid Challenge on Saturday.

HOW IT HAPPENED AT BU:

- In the mile, Wilson broke the 10-year old MIT school record by .40 seconds as he placed 13th overall in 4:06.02 and now ranks third in the nation.

Benton Wilson (Dublin, Ohio) is now ranked ninth in the country after running a time of 21.70 in the 200 meters to place ninth overall on the day. In addition, junior
Kenneth Wei (Mount Sinai, N.Y.) is now 15th nationally after winning the triple jump with a leap of 47 feet, 0.75 inches. First-year
Pau Ilerbaig-Bajona (Toronto, Canada) posted a 10th-place finish in the 500 as he crossed in a time of 1:05.06.

HOW IT HAPPENED AT TUFTS:

- At Tufts, senior
Nathan Basinger (Dalton, Ohio) was a double winner as he captured both the shot put and the weight throw. He took the shot with a throw of 48 feet, 10.25, along with a toss of 53 feet, 2.25 inches in the weight throw. Senior
William Woltmann (Secaucus, N.J.) placed second in the shot put (47 feet, five inches) and third in the weight throw (51 feet, 10.25 inches), while first-year
Sam Engebretson (Sioux Falls, S.D.) and junior
Henry Sobieszczyk (Newton, Mass.) also placed in the top 10 in both. Engebretson was fourth in the weight throw (48 feet, 1.25 inches) and 10 in the shot (42 feet, 10.25 inches), with Sobieszczyk finishing sixth in the weight throw (45 feet, 10.5 inches) and eighth in the shot (44 feet, 1.25 inches).

Liam Ackerman (Miami, Fla.) led three Engineers in the top four of the pole vault as he won the event by clearing 16 feet to rank eighth in the country. First-year
Luka Srsic (Worthington, Ohio) was second with a height of 15 feet, one inch and he was followed by senior
Everett Brandyberry (Hill City, Kan.) in fourth at 14 feet, 1.25 inches.

Walter Truitt (Houston, Texas) placed third in the 60-meter hurdles in a time of 8.64. Junior
Jeremiah Budiman (Plano, Texas) was fourth in the finals of the 60 meters in 7.06 seconds, along with a ninth-place showing in the 600 by junior
Evan Schaefer (Frederick, Md.) with a time of 1:25.35. In addition, sophomore
Raymond Brookman (Santa Cruz, Calif.) finished third in the 3,000 meters as he crossed in 8:43.33.
