- The Lead: On day two of the NCAA Division III National Championship, the No. 15 ranked MIT men's track and field team had a pair of student-athletes advances to Sunday's finals in the 110-meter hurdles and the 800 meters. The Engineers are currently in a tie for sixth with a total of 10 points.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

- In the 110-meter hurdle prelims, junior
Kenneth Wei (Mt. Sinai, N.Y.) qualified as the No. 2 seed with a time of 14.33 seconds as advanced to Saturday's finals. First-year
Walter Truitt (Houston, Texas) finished 16th out of 20 competitors in his first Nationals meet as he ran a time of 14.79 seconds.

- In the prelims of the 800 meters, senior
Ryan Wilson (Redwood City, Calif.) was the top qualifier as he won the prelims with a personal-best time of 1:50.45. He came into the event as the No. 11 seed and is the 2022 NCAA Indoor Champion in the 800 meters.
