- The Lead: Led by nine event wins and five top-20 finishes, the No. 23 ranked MIT men's track and field team hosted the Sean Collier Invitational on Saturday. The meet is the first outdoor meet hosted by MIT since the spring of 2019.

- Junior
Kenneth Wei (Mt. Sinai, N.Y.) and senior
Nathan Basinger (Dalton, Ohio) each won a pair of events to lead the team. Wei is ranked eighth in the nation in the long jump after a winning jump of 24 feet, 1.75 inches, as well as 19th in the country in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 14.72 seconds. First-year
Walter Truitt (Houston, Texas) finished second in the hurdles as he was right behind Wei at 14.82 seconds.

- Basinger won both the shot put and discus, as well as finishing third in the hammer throw. He won the shot put with a throw of 50 feet, 1.25 inches, along with a distance of 154 feet, eight inches in the discus. He then followed that with a throw of 167 feet, four inches in the hammer. First-year
Sam Engebretson (Sioux Falls, S.D.) also finished in the top five in all three events, including second in the discus at 153 feet, six inches. He was also third in the shot put at 48 feet, 2.75 inches and fourth in the hammer throw at 164 feet, two inches. Senior
William Woltmann (Secaucus, N.J.) placed fourth in the shot put with a throw of 47 feet, 9.75 inches.

Liam Ackerman (Miami, Fla.) led a sweep of the top five spots in the pole vault as he is now eighth in the country with a height of 15 feet, 11.25 inches. Senior
Everett Brandyberry (Hill City, Kan.) and junior
Bryan Sperry (San Diego, Calif.) tied for second at 15 feet, 1.5 inches, with first-year
Luka Srsic (Worthington, Ohio) placing fourth at the same height. Senior
Max Hardy (Houston, Texas) completed the sweep in fifth with a height of 14 feet, 7.5 inches.

Ryan Wilson (Redwood City, Calif.), the indoor NCAA national champion in the 800, is now ranked sixth in the country outdoors after winning in a time of 1:50.72. First-year
Pau Ilerbaig-Bajona (Toronto, Canada) was second and is 13th in the nation with a time of 1:51.75.

Benton Wilson won the 400 meters by a .40-second margin in a time of 49.63 seconds, while sophomore
Jacob Hansen (Bountiful, Utah) captured the 5,000 meters in 14:53.79. The Engineers took by 4x100 relay by just .06 seconds as the team of junior
Jeremiah Budiman (Plano, Texas), junior
McKinley Polen (Los Altos, Calif.), Wilson and junior
Omozusi Guobadia (Katy, Texas) ran a time of 42.39 seconds. Budiman was second in the 100 at 11.06 seconds, with Guobadia in fourth at 11.09 and Polen in fifth at 11.12.

Pablo Arroyo (Richardson, Texas) finished third in the 3,000-meter steeplechase at 10:09.64, while junior
Steven Marquez (El Centro, Calif.) was fifth in the high jump with a clearance of five feet, 11.25 inches.

Ziyad Hassan (Ashburn, Va.), senior
Matt Schofield (Shorewood, Ill.) and first-year
Dreese Fadil (Newburyport, Mass.) was third in 3:28.19.
