MARLBOROUGH, Mass. -- MIT baseball first year infielder
Dalton Chi has been named the NEWMAC Baseball Athlete of the Week for the week ending March 29, 2026. The honor is the first of Chi's career.
Chi, a native of Cerritos, Calif. hit .600 with a .600/.667/.647 slash line, registering nine hits in 15 at-bats while scoring nine runs and collecting six RBIs as MIT earned a pair of NEWMAC victories. Chi was 2-for-4 with three runs scored in a 17-2 win over Emerson before going 4-for-6 with two runs scored and three RBIs in a midweek non-conference loss to Mitchell. He closed out the week going 3-for-5 with four runs scored in a 14-4 victory over WPI. He ranks second in the NEWMAC with a .455 batting average through 15 games.
Chi and the MIT baseball team have a busy week ahead, with another game against Emerson on Tuesday, followed by a non-conference match-up with Endicott on Wednesday and a NEWMAC doubleheader against Coast Guard on Saturday.
