MIT Softball Showcases Resiliency and Talent at NCAA Bangor Regional
The MIT softball team delivered a thrilling, high-energy performance at the NCAA Bangor Regional, showcasing their trademark resilience against elite competition. The Engineers kicked off the tournament in style, staging a spectacular comeback from an early deficit to defeat Colby College 7-2 behind a clutch five-run fourth inning. They carried that powerful momentum into the winner's bracket on Friday, where Arianna Kumar drove in four runs to anchor a dominant 9-3 victory over Endicott. This stellar play positioned MIT just one win away from a Super Regional berth heading into a highly competitive Championship Sunday. While Colby ultimately fought back to capture the regional title with 9-2 and 8-5 victories, the Engineers battled hard until the final out, launching a spirited seventh-inning rally in the finale. Highlighting their outstanding weekend, standout stars Arianna Kumar, Ava Ladd, and Delaney Benevides earned well-deserved selections to the All-Tournament Team to cap off a proud regional run.
