Sport Shorts Spotlight: No. 11 MIT Women’s Soccer Extends Winning Streak with Three Shutout Victories
The No. 11 MIT women’s soccer team continued its dominant run with three shutout wins this week, defeating Salve Regina (3-0), Springfield (4-0), and No. 9 Williams (1-0). The Engineers have now won 19 straight NEWMAC regular season matches and recorded 10 clean sheets this year while allowing just five goals overall.
MIT opened the week with a 3-0 victory over Salve Regina as Madeline Seebeck, Maeve Sullivan, and Andrea Cummings all scored second-half goals. The Engineers followed with a 4-0 win against Springfield, powered by goals from Sasha Ceol, Arianna Doss, Natalie Barnouw, and Amara Ukomadu. On Sunday, MIT earned a key top-15 road victory, edging No. 9 Williams 1-0 behind Doss’s header in the 20th minute and a career-best eight saves from goalkeeper Ava Muffoletto.
