Sport Shorts Spotlight: No. 16 MIT Men's Volleyball Caps Perfect Weekend with Epic Reverse Sweep of No. 8 NYU

The No. 16 MIT men's volleyball team enjoyed a perfect weekend at home, highlighted by a dominant 3-0 sweep of Elmira and a thrilling 3-2 comeback upset over No. 8 NYU. After making quick work of Elmira on Friday, the Engineers faced a daunting 0-2 deficit against the Violets before rallying for a historic reverse sweep. Braeden Baker fueled the offense with a career-high 28 kills in the marathon match, while Colin Zimmerman orchestrated the comeback with a career-best 53 assists. These two critical UVC victories improved MIT’s overall record to 15-3 and marked their first win over NYU since 2023. The Engineers now carry massive momentum into their upcoming mid-week homestand against Springfield College this Thursday.
