Sport Shorts Spotlight: MIT Squash Makes History with CSA Hoehn Cup Championship

The top-seeded MIT squash team completed a historic run at the Arlen Specter US Squash Center, capturing the program's first-ever Hoehn Cup title. The Engineers began their dominant weekend in Philadelphia by overpowering Rochester 8-1 in the quarterfinals before securing a 6-3 semifinal victory over Navy. In a thrilling championship final against Colby, the match came down to a decisive battle in the fifth ladder where Rishabh Sharma clinched the 5-4 team win. MIT’s success was anchored by a powerhouse performance from the lower half of their lineup, which swept ladders five through nine during the title match. This victory marks only the second CSA team championship in program history, following their 2019 Summers Cup win. The Engineers finish the season with an impressive 17-5 record and are set to achieve one of their highest national rankings to date.
