Sport Shorts Spotlight: Swim and Dive Reaffirm National Standing in An Action Packed Weekend
In one of the most anticipated dual-meet showdowns of the season, the MIT Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving teams rose to the occasion to prove they are back as a top-tier national power. Facing a stacked lineup, both squads secured victories over nationally ranked rivals No. 8 and 14 Williams and No. 9 and 18 Tufts, while battling hard against No. 2 and 3 NYU.
The weekend was headlined by Grant Hu, who broke the school record in the 1000 Free with the nation’s second-fastest time, alongside the women’s team which displayed incredible depth through standout performances from Daniela Petran and sprinter Ella Roberson. With numerous NCAA B-Cuts and Regional diving marks secured across the roster, MIT has firmly reasserted its status as an elite men's and women's squad heading into next week's regular-season finale against Amherst, and championship season to follow.
