Sport Shorts Spotlight: Dill Earns 800th Career Win as No. 5 MIT Goes 2-1 at NYU Invitational
 

No. 5 MIT women’s volleyball highlighted a 2-1 weekend at the NYU Mid-September Invitational with head coach Paul Dill earning his 800th career victory at the helm of the Engineers. After opening the weekend with a 3-1 setback to No. 11 Ithaca on Friday, MIT bounced back with a pair of four-set victories over Wentworth and host NYU on Saturday. The two wins improved the Engineers to 8-1 on the season and moved Dill into 11th place all-time in NCAA Division III history in career victories. Sabine Smith led MIT with 16 kills against Wentworth before producing 19 kills on a .395 hitting percentage in the win over NYU. Eileen Sadati also turned in a strong weekend, including 17 kills against Ithaca and 15 in the victory over NYU. Kayleigh May directed the offense with 40 assists in each of Saturday’s wins, while MIT’s defense recorded 11 blocks against NYU. The Engineers return home to open NEWMAC play against WPI on Tuesday, September 22 at 6:00 p.m.
