Sport Shorts: This Week in MIT Athletics

Sport Shorts Spotlight: MIT Pulls Away Early to Defeat Nichols, 62–41

Women's basketball used an 11–0 run in the second quarter to take control and earn a 62–41 win over Nichols on Tuesday night. Mary Lobon paced the Engineers with 18 points, 16 rebounds, and five assists. MIT led 35–18 at halftime after an April Chan buzzer-beater, and after a third quarter that saw both teams generate eight points, the Engineers opened the fourth with a 14–4 run to seal the victory. Riley O’Sullivan and Ruth Lanouette each added nine points, while Chan contributed eight rebounds, four assists, and three steals. MIT heads to Endicott on December 1.

Water Polo

  • MIT will compete in the USA Water Polo Division III National Championship this Saturday and Sunday at Claremont-Mudd-Scripps in Claremont, California. We will play Pomona-Pitzer in the semifinals on Saturday. Check the schedule for updated information as the week progresses.
